About Tonja Jones
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Tonja Jones discovered her passion for singing and dancing at age 10 while training at Bernice Johnson’s Cultural Arts Center, where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, African dance, and vocal performance.
Her love of music brought her to Las Vegas, where she performed in casino lounges before joining Rebbie Jackson’s production for nine months. She also sang background vocals for Carl Carlton and, at the encouragement of Early Clover of Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, auditioned for The Marvelettes. For many years, she performed throughout Las Vegas and across the United States in tribute productions paying homage to The Marvelettes and The Platters.
Tonja later appeared in the Las Vegas productions Forever Doowop and Forever Motorcity before forming her own touring all female tribute group, “Timeless”, celebrating the music of Motown, Doo Wop, and classic soul.
The collaboration between Executive Producer Pete Housley and Tonja Jones brought “All Motown” to life, creating a Las Vegas residency that celebrates the timeless music, style, and energy of Motown. As the show’s producer, director, and choreographer, Tonja brings her vision and expertise together with a talented all-female cast to deliver unforgettable performances for audiences each week at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Building on the success of “All Motown”, Pete Housley and Tonja Jones expanded their entertainment offerings with the “Motown Brunch”, a Sunday celebration of Motown’s greatest hits that has quickly become a favorite Las Vegas experience at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Tonja credits God for blessing her with the gift of music and performance. She is thankful for every opportunity to share that gift and to bring joy, memories, and the timeless sound of Motown to audiences of all ages.
